Spotlight on go fish!, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

go fish! a british fish + chips shop on Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth Beach serves up British comfort food with style at prices that are wallet friendly.  They’ve been called “the best dinner in Rehoboth” by The Today Show and “…one of the shore’s best eats” by The Washington Post.  Delaware Today called it a “best value meal” and also gave it the “best fish and chips” label in its Best of Delaware annual review.  This restaurant quite obviously serves up great fish and chips, but they also serve up other British favorites such as bangers and mash, shepherd’s pie, and their famous sticky toffee pudding.

If British food isn’t your thing, you might opt for the highly praised crab cakes, soft-shell crabs, fish tacos, or Maryland clam chowder.  And if that’s not enough for you, they also serve up some yummy steak and chicken dishes.

go fish! is so well loved that owner, Alison Blyth recently opened a second shop in Lewes — this little sister to go fish! is called go brit! fish + chips and serves up all the delicious dishes that made go fish! so wildly popular!

So head into Rehoboth or Lewes today and see why everyone is raving about go fish!  And while you’re there, don’t forget to order some sticky toffee pudding!

The Thursday Three: 3 Signs that Spring is Coming to Lewes, Delaware

Daylight is lasting longer into the evening with each passing day, proving to everyone that spring is near. But for those of us here in the Lewes area, here are a few other sure signs that spring is just around the corner…

Daylight is lasting longer into the evening with each passing day, proving to everyone that spring is near.  But for those of us here in the Lewes area, there are a few other sure signs that spring is just around the corner:

  1. The Dairy Queen in Lewes has reopened for the season!
I don’t know about you, but I get a little depressed when the Dairy Queen closes because it means that winter is on it’s way.  Now that they’ve reopened for the season I’m ready to get myself a Blizzard, take a walk on the beach and enjoy the feel of spring in the air!
  2. Cape Henlopen State Park is charging for entry again.
Delaware State Parks charge entry from March 1st-November 30th, so if you’re a fan of Cape Henlopen (and if you’re not sure why you should be, check out this post!) it’s time to get those annual passes!  At $27 for Delaware vehicles ($12 for seniors), it’s a must-have for the season.
  3. Fishing is picking up!
Already unseasonably warm water temperatures are warming up even more, so fishermen are anticipating an early striped bass run and an influx of flounder to the back bays in the next couple of weeks.  The local boat ramps are ready for you, so get your gear ready and go out and catch some dinner!  Want to check out what’s going on before you head out?  Check out the Indian River Inlet Live Cam.

Another sure sign of spring?  Homebuying season is picking up!  If you want to be part of it, give us a call at Cooper Realty and let us help you find the property that is perfect for you – 302-644-2266!

“JUSST SOOUP” EPISODE OF EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION AIRS NEXT WEEK!

Dale Dunning founded “Jusst Sooup Ministries”while she was in Bible College, starting off with a crock pot and a hot plate to make soup for her classmates after theology class. Today, along with her husband Ken and son Brooks, wakes up at 2 a.m. every day to provide meals at 17 soup kitchens for those in need across the state of Delaware.

The day that many people in the Lewes area of Sussex County, DE have been waiting for is only 1 week away!  On November 18th, ABC will air the Thanksgiving episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition featuring the Dunning family’s Jusst Sooup Ranch.

The Dunnings have been living in a rental home that is basically a converted storage facility for “Jusst Sooup”.  But they store massive amounts of food, and their small home can’t contain it all.  Their dream is to create the “Jusst Sooup Ranch,” which would be a house the Dunnings could move into and where they could run a large-scale kitchen to feed needy families across the state.  It would also be a place that provides shelter, food, and support for families in need, helping them get back on their feet, enabling them to then invite other families to take their place in micro-homes on the property.  Dale envisions “Jusst Sooup Ranch” having a garden, crops and a small farm to provide food.

Tune in on November 18th to learn more about this one of a kind project!!

HURRY, SELLERS! DON’T LET THE WINDOW CLOSE ON YOU!!

To make it even more complicated, there is a flood of distressed properties (short sales/foreclosures) entering the market, and they are having a negative effect on property values, as they sell for a greatly discounted price.

When I go out on listing appointments, part of the process is determining a price at which the property will sell within a satisfactory time period.  This part of the process is usually a very difficult one.  Obviously, the sellers want to get the most money as possible.   At the same time, the property needs to be priced in line with the competition.  To make it even more complicated, there is a flood of distressed properties (short sales/foreclosures) entering the market, and they are having a negative effect on property values, as they sell for a greatly discounted price.  Therefore, anyone needing to sell their home needs to do it NOW and price it in such a way that compels a buyer to buy it NOW!!!

I recently read an article that explains this very well.  Click HERE to see what the experts are saying, and then call us to help you sell your home, TODAY!!  We have a secret weapon that will help you save money!!  Call Cooper Realty to find out what we will do for you!!

Just Like New 4 Bedroom Home in Millsboro, DE!

Additional benefits of living in Stonewater Creek are full access to the clubhouse, exercise equipment, tennis courts, and swimming pool/jacuzzi. That’s like having a free membership to the YMCA without having to do all of the driving!

 FABULOUS HOME IN STONEWATER CREEK!
You really should check out this great house I found for sale in Longneck!  Well, the mailing address is actually Millsboro, but it’s a short drive on Beaver Dam Road to get to Five Points, Lewes, or northbound Route 1.  It’s less than 5 minutes away from Baywood Golf Course on Route 24 and the Peninsula Golf Course and Country Club in Millsboro.  It’s also very easy to hop on Route 24 and drive west toward Laurel, Seaford, or even Salisbury.  This house is in the great development of Stonewater Creek!  It’s fantastic!  It is much larger than it appears, with 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, a 2-car garage, a relaxing front porch, and a flagstone patio out back.  There is a custom-built shed and swing set, as well as flower gardens designed with PA fieldstone.  There is irrigation tied to a well to help maintain a beautiful landscape.  The house is only four years old and has been kept in great condition.  Additional benefits of living in Stonewater Creek are full access to the clubhouse, exercise equipment, tennis courts, and swimming pool/jacuzzi.  That’s like having a free membership to the YMCA without having to do all of the driving!  And it that’s not enough excitement for you, there’s even more….this house is being sold mostly furnished for only $269,900!  That is a steal!  I could go on and on about this house!  I absolutely love it!  Oh, did I happen to mention that it’s my house that’s for sale?  Well, as much as I have loved living there, there is a season for everything, and it is my time to move on.  It will be a bittersweet goodbye.  But, I will be very happy for the next owner who gets to enjoy living there!
