This week the Rehoboth Beach Film Society and Lewes Public Library kick off the 2012-2013 season of their critically acclaimed international independent film series.  This season’s theme is Around the World, and it begins tomorrow night, September 5th in the upstairs screening room at Movies at Midway (Route 1 in Rehoboth).  The film kicking off this series is Hospitalite, a comedic film that won the Best Independent Debut Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival.  The film description states:  “This raucous comedy follows Mikio Kobayashi, who lives quietly with his wife, daughter, and divorced sister in downtown Tokyo, where the only recent excitement is the disappearance of a pet parrot.  But a stranger appears and stirs up the monotony of Mikio’s former life with affairs, blackmail, and rampant youthful partying.

The movie begins at 7pm and admission is free.  This film is in Japanese with English subtitles.  For more information or a more in-depth summary of the film, check out the Rehoboth Beach Film Society website.

Thursday Three: 3 Pizza Places To Try In Rehoboth

Pizza on the boardwalk is one of my favorite things! Here are three great pizza places in Rehoboth sure to please:

Grotto Pizza. With several locations along the boardwalk, more on Rehoboth Ave, and several locations inland as well, Grotto Pizza is a summertime favorite! Though, not everyone loves Grotto, I have to admit it is my first choice for pizza in Rehoboth, and I’m obviously not alone because Grotto pizza was voted Best Pizza in both upstate and downstate Delaware in Delaware Today’s famous Reader’s Poll in 2011. Plus, if you join the Grotto Fan Club on their website you’ll get a coupon for $3 off any pizza! What’s not to love about that?

Nicola PizzaHome of the famous Nic-o-boli, Nicola is the pizza of choice for the rest of my family!  Locally owned and operated for over 40 years, there are 2 locations in Rehoboth to serve you.  Nicola uses a delicious 3-cheese blend and homemade sauce and dough, and will even ship many of their products, including jars of sauce and Nic-o-bolis.  Yum!!!

Louie’s PizzaIn addition to good pizza, Louie’s also serves up their famous grinders as well as delicious subs and cheese steaks.  If you’re looking for some place a little less touristy than Nicola or Grotto then Louie’s is your best bet.  After all, they advertise themselves as “Rehoboth’s best kept secret: the place where locals eat!”
