The Annual Christmas in Lewes Weekend kicks off Thursday, December 1 with the Holiday of Lights tree-lighting ceremony in front of Beebe Medical Center (424 Savannah Road) at 5:30 pm. Watch as this lovely tree comes to life from the glow of the many lights in remembrance or honor of loved ones. Then, stroll to your favorite shops and restaurants for the annual Merchants’ Hospitality Night in the shops and restaurants on Front, Market, Bank, Second, and Third Streets and Savannah Road where local businesses will be open until 9 pm to welcome you with their particular brand of warm hospitality. Friday gives you the opportunity to see and purchase beautiful art, sample delicious food and libations, and meet old and new friends all for a good cause at the Children’s Beach House Annual Holiday Art Gala, 1800 Bay Avenue, from 6 -9 pm.   Already have plans for Friday night? The free art show and sale will continue on Saturday, 10 am-4 pm, and Sunday, Noon-3 pm..feel free to stop in!  Then, on Saturday be sure to take advantage of visiting many fine public and private homes and buildings at the Lewes Historical Society’s Annual House Tour. This is your chance to take a peek inside some of those lovely Lewes homes that have always piqued your interests, and to see the Society’s treasured museums decorated for the holidays. The self-guided tour runs from 10 am to 4 pm. Finish this magical day with Lewes’s Annual Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade beginning at 5 pm capped off with tree-lighting and caroling in Zwaanendael Park, and at refreshments in the Lewes Chamber of Commerce’s office in the Fisher-Martin House.
