With a charming and welcoming atmosphere and absolutely delicious food the title of “Seaford’s Gourmet Secret” is well deserved. Both the quality of the food and the service are top notch. It’s a great place for a romantic meal or a friendly dinner and has consistently high ratings from a variety of reviewers. Bon Appetit serves lunch Tuesday-Friday from noon until 2:30 and dinner, including a 5 course prix fixe menu Tuesday-Saturday from 5pm-9pm. Reservations are recommended.

Jimmy’s Grille & Family Restaurant in Bridgeville (18541 S. Main St.) is a great place to go for a down home family meal. They are well known for their fried chicken which has been called, “to die for,” “best at the beach,” and “greatest chicken ever!” but their Cream of Crab soup is also the best of the best. Their down-home desserts are also sure to please, and you can even order whole pies to go for special events or really any reason you’d like! The service is friendly and the atmosphere is casual and welcoming. If you’re looking for good food in a casual atmosphere, definitely try Jimmy’s.

Luca is open Tuesday-Thursday from 5pm-9pm and Friday & Saturday from 5pm-10pm, and they do take reservations.

Just Hooked is a restaurant serving fresh, locally sourced foods that is built on the premise of “farm-ocean-table.” Located at 1500 Coastal Highway in Fenwick Island, they have daily dinner specials, including $2 fish tacos on Mondays, 50% off ladies checks on Wednesday, and a 3 pre-selected 3 course meal on Sundays. In addition to delicious food, Just Hooked also serves a full bar and has drink specials as well.

Just Hooked gets nothing but rave reviews. The atmosphere is welcoming, service is great, and the food is some of the best in the area. Definitely try the roasted red pepper soup… it is to die for! To be honest, you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

If you’re looking for an delicious and enjoyable upscale meal, I definitely recommend DiFebo’s in Bethany or their sister location at Bear Trap Dunes in Oceanview.

Whether you already love thai food or just like to try new things, you should definitely check out Lily Thai Cuisine in Rehoboth (10 N. First St. in Rehoboth). No matter what you order off the menu, you are guaranteed a delicious meal and if you’re afraid something is too spicy you can ask them to take the heat down a few notches (or up a few notches if you love peppers!). The staff is friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the prices are moderate. Although some prices seem a bit high, the portion sizes and deliciousness of the food make it worth it! My personal favorite is Chicken Pad Thai, but I haven’t heard complaints about any of the menu options. There are even vegetarian and vegan options available. Lily Thai is definitely a restaurant to check out!

With delicious seafood and an extensive raw bar menu, it’s easy to see why Henlopen City Oyster House (50 Wilmington Ave. in Rehoboth Beach) is one of the most highly rated restaurants in Rehoboth Beach. Henlopen City sources regional seafood markets, relies on locally grown fruits and vegetables, and only serves meats that have been raised locally. This ensures freshness and deliciousness! The only downside is that depending on when you go you might have to wait a bit to get a table since they don’t take reservations, but it is worth the wait. The food is worth raving about, prices are reasonable, and the service is great. Henlopen City Oyster House is a great choice for any occasion. The restaurant opens at 3pm daily and begins serving dinner at 5pm. You should definitely check it out.

The service is good, the prices are great, and the food isn’t fancy, but it is guaranteed to be hot and delicious. Timothy’s At The Beach (19598 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach) is a casual restaurant offering quintessential American favorites, especially steak and seafood! Timothy’s has an extensive selection of beer, wine and spirits and offers great happy hour specials from 4-6pm every day. If oysters are your thing, Timothy’s offers a decent raw bar selection. Timothy’s also features great specials every night, including my favorite on Saturday – prime rib for $1 an ounce and ½ price bottles of wine. Yum!

Spotlight on Hopkins Family Creamery in Lewes

Hopkins Family Creamery is one of the top rated ice cream shops in Lewes for good reason! The ice cream is DEEE-LICIOUS! (And you can trust me, I am an ice cream connoisseur!) You can’t get much fresher… this creamery is located right on the dairy farm. The prices are high, but not absurd and there is a great selection of flavors. Personally, I’ve tried moo cookies, coconut, brownie, and strawberry and all were rich, creamy, and delicious. Located at 18475 Dairy Farm Road, right off Route 9, it’s not too far off the beaten path, and the atmosphere is great too. There is a picnic area to enjoy your ice cream, a play area for kids, and a lot of times you can even see the cows! If you haven’t tried Hopkins Family Creamery yet, you definitely should. I love that it’s family owned, and it’s some of the best ice cream around!

Summer House is a local favorite known for its fresh food, relaxed atmosphere, and great service! Located right on the Ave. (228 Rehoboth Ave.) is open year round for lunch (11:30am-3pm) and dinner (beginning at 4pm). They also do a lovely Sunday brunch which starts at 11am. Summer House specialized in American favorites and super delicious seafood. It’s a restaurant that suits pretty much any occasion, and from what I can tell it’s impossible to order something that isn’t delicious! Their steaks, crab cakes, and seafood linguine have all gotten rave reviews, and everything else looks and smells equally scrumptious. Summer House features several weekly specials (including half-price burger night on Mondays after 4!), and happy hour specials daily from 4pm-7pm. If you’re a local, chances are you’ve eaten here before, but if you haven’t you’ve got to check it out soon. It’s a Rehoboth Beach staple, after all!

Finbar’s is a classic Irish Pub known for its welcoming atmosphere. Located right on the Avenue (316 Rehoboth Ave.), Finbar’s is in the heart of it all! Finbar’s also proudly supports local, sustainable farming and fishing practices.

The bar at Finbar’s is known for being welcoming, and with 28 beers on tap plus other extensive choices, it’s a good thing the bartenders have a reputation for being helpful! Finbar’s is open year round and is even a great place to bring the family. They have a nice children’s menu, and kids even get free ice cream for dessert! So, if you’re looking to try some place new in Rehoboth, be sure to check out Finbar’s!

The Rehoboth location (33A Baltimore Ave.) specializes in carry-out orders, but if you prefer table service you can try their Lewes location (101 2nd Street). Next time you’re in the mood for a delicious sandwich, be sure to check them out!

5 Mid-Priced Restaurants in Rehoboth

It’s no secret that there are tons of restaurants in Rehoboth. In fact, I could probably write about 5 every day and still have plenty to write about, but without further ado here are five mid-priced places worth trying:

1. The Greene Turtle
Located right on the boardwalk (101 S. Boardwalk) diners at The Greene Turtle experience amazing views of the beach and boardwalk while enjoying their meals. Open from 11am-9pm during the week and 11am-11pm on Friday and Saturday, The Greene Turtle has a wide selection of food and drink, most of which are reasonably priced. What the menu lacks in ingenuity (it is a chain restaurant, after all) it more than makes up for with atmosphere and location. I highly recommend you check it out!

2. Obie’s By The Sea
Obie’s is a local favorite right along the boardwalk (Boardwalk & Olive Ave.) that offers casual indoor and outdoor dining. Obie’s has amazing views of the dunes and ocean which are definitely enjoyable. The food is classic, American fare and some seafood favorites!

3. Iguana Grill
Located just over a block from the beach at 52 Baltimore Ave, the Iguana Grill offers delicious Tex/Mex favorites, some with a seafood twist. They are open for lunch and dinner throughout the season (April-October). In addition to yummy food, if you’re looking for a great happy hour, you might want to check it out.

4. Hobos
Right next store to Iguana Grill you can check out Hobos Restaurant and Bar. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Hobos has been described as eco-global fusion. The food is unique and the focus is on organic, locally grown products. Featuring custom menus for vegetarians, vegans, and others, Hobos is definitely worth a try, even if it isn’t destined to become your new favorite. And who knows, maybe it will be your new fave!

5. Rigby’s Bar & Grill
Located right on Rehoboth Ave. (404 Rehoboth Ave.) Rigby’s focuses on fresh, local ingredients. With a wide variety of choices, Rigby’s is open for dinner and is a great choice for late-night dining on the Avenue. Rigby’s also offers brunch on Sunday. Dining in the outdoor patio is a great experience, and if you’re looking for a restaurant that will welcome your beloved pooch, then Rigby’s is your place.
