Here are a few events going on in and around Sussex County this weekend:

Friday, Feb 22^nd – Rehoboth Beach Film Society presents Oscar Nominated Live Action Shorts
The film society will present the five Academy Award contenders for Best Live Action Short Film in the upstairs screening room at the Movies at Midway at 7pm Friday night. Admission is $4 for Society members and $6 for non-members. Tickets are sold first-come, first-serve. For more information, including a description of the films, check out this link.

Saturday, Feb. 23^rd – Big Fish Grill Cooking Class
Learn how to cook with the experts! Class is from 10am-1pm, with doors opening at 9:45am. Participants must be pre-registered. Cost is $75 per person. Hands-on participation is expected! Class includes coffee & breakfast, meeting the chef, question and answer session, wine & cheese tasting, and cooking instruction including three courses, plus more.

Saturday, Feb. 23^rd – Nanticoke Health Fair
The Nanticoke Health Fair takes place at Laurel High School (1133 S. Central Ave in Laurel) from 7:30am-2pm Saturday. This community event is for all ages and includes health screenings, demonstrations, and activities for the whole family. Health screenings include cholesterol, glucose, body mass, blood pressure, and more.

Spotlight On: My Favorite Restaurants

1. Blue Water Grill in Millsboro

This family restaurant is a well loved tradition. The main location is in Millsboro, but there are also locations in Selbyville, Milford and Laurel. The home style favorites served here are crowd pleasers. Check out my review here.

Spotlight on Big Fish Grill, Rehoboth Beach

Looking to try some place new for dinner tonight? Try Big Fish Grill in Rehoboth! This casual dining restaurant is great for families, business lunches, hanging out with friends, or, if you sit in one of the high-backed booths even a private date!

The food is well-prepared and delicious! Their daily specials demonstrate their underlying commitment to freshness, and the service is great too! They even offer special carry-out deals, if that’s more your speed. Everything I’ve ever had at Big Fish Grill has been great, but I especially like the Lobster Bisque & Grilled Salmon.

One last thing I really like about Big Fish Grill is that they offer cooking classes! The classes don’t run during the summer since it’s their busiest season, but they’ll begin again in October, so check back then!
